To use content staging, you setup two identical versions of your website: One production site that public visitors see when addressing your site and one content staging site that your editors use to create, review and publish content. Make sure both sites use the exact same entity types for this to work.
We'll start with the content staging site where your editors work on the content. Visit the CMS Content Sync configuration page at the Drupal admin UI: Configuration > Web services > CMS Content Sync:
